Union Block

Union Block is a landmark in downtown Hillsboro, ND. In 1891, several pioneer merchants united to construct this two-story brick structure after fire destroyed a block of wood frame businesses. Union Block was built from the plans of Architect Fisk of Grand Forks, ND, in the early commercial style with Romanesque influences in the arched window masonry.

This phase of the project will provide complete exterior masonry restoration of the storefronts.

Restoration Project Cost: $18,355
Prairie Churches Grassroots Grant: $5,000
Local Match: $13,355
